How to make money on social media: 3 steps to get started

It’s safe to say that social media rules the world nowadays. Snapchat, Twitter, Facebook, and Instagram are just a few of the many platforms that most people utilize daily. With so much time being spent on these different social platforms, have you ever wondered if you could profit off of your usage as influencers do? Well, follow these three steps to get started.
1) Establish your own brand
First, it is important to establish your own brand and find your niche. This will set you aside from others trying to achieve the same goal of making money off posts. You want to stand out amongst your competitors and appeal to brands in a way that others don’t. With this, it is also essential to stay consistent on your platforms. To expand your personal brand, it is necessary to share and stay engaged with your audience regularly. Not only does this positively benefit the audience you already have, but it promotes the growth of your page and will help you reach a larger number of people.
2) Connect with brands that share similar values
After you have established your personal brand, start connecting with brands that share similar values and interests. There are a variety of ways to come into contact with brands, such as direct emailing or DMing, joining affiliate programs, and connecting through Facebook groups. It is extremely beneficial for small influencers to join groups where advertisers and influencers can connect easily. Businesses have turned to social media marketing to advertise themselves to a wide array of different audiences. They are constantly searching for influencers, big and small, who correlate with their values to promote their products.
3) Promote products
Once you have established a connection with a brand, if they believe it is a good fit, they will send you free products and/or monetary compensation in exchange for a post. Advertising campaigns on any social media platform are both beneficial to the influencer and the business. This is a way for brands to capitalize on easy marketing mechanisms by having people share their products with others. This supports aspiring influencers by getting paid for what they post and allowing them to further build the audience they have already created.
Overall, there is no wrong or right way to begin making money on your social media platforms. These are just a few ways to get your foot in the door.
